About Dermal Fillers

At Zavant Aesthetics, we offer both hyaluronic acid-based fillers and calcium hydroxylapatite-based fillers:

  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers: Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found within the body that helps attract and retain water molecules. These fillers are highly popular do to their low allergic risk, near-immediate results, and reversibility. (1)
  • Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) Fillers: Calcium hydroxylapatite is a biocompatible substance that can stimulate the production of collagen when administered. These fillers are often used to correct more moderate to severe concerns and can provide longer-lasting effects compared to other types of fillers. (2)

Sculptra®

Sculptra is an injectable treatment that can restore a more contoured and youthful-looking appearance. This treatment is composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic polymer that can restore volume, stimulate collagen, and tighten the skin. We can administer Sculptra into several different areas of the face, but common injection sites include the temples, cheeks, jawline, chin, and neck. (4) Sculptra produces long-lasting effects, with many patients experiencing their results for up to three years or longer.

RHA (RHA®)

RHA fillers are hyaluronic acid-based fillers that are highly flexible and can adapt to your natural facial movements and expressions. These fillers are designed to address moderate to severe dynamic wrinkles and folds, restoring a more youthful-looking appearance. We offer several RHA products at Zavant, including:

  • RHA 2: RHA 2 is a resilient HA filler that can restore volume to the skin and minimize the appearance of wrinkles, especially around the nasolabial folds or mouth. RHA 2 is also formulated with lidocaine to reduce any potential discomfort during your treatment.
  • RHA 3: RHA 3 can be used to improve the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, as well as augment the appearance of the lips.
  • RHA Redensity: This filler can be injected into both the superficial dermis and the dermis to reduce the appearance of perioral lines.

Radiesse (Radiesse®)

Radiesse is a calcium-hydroxylapatite filler that is effective for facial augmentation, specifically recontouring the cheekbones, jawline, and neckline. Although Radiesse is still temporary, it offers longer results when compared to HA-based fillers. When administered, this filler can help stimulate the production of both collagen and elastin, two essential proteins needed to retain the firmness and elasticity of your skin. (2)

Candidates

Candidates for dermal fillers typically include anyone interested in reducing and softening visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles, creases, folds, or fine lines. Those experiencing volume loss or hollowing in the face, neck, or hands may also make suitable candidates, as well as patients interested in augmenting the appearance of their cheekbones, chin, or lips.

All candidates interested in dermal fillers should be in good general health and hold realistic expectations regarding their results. Our team of specialists will determine each individual’s eligibility for this treatment during their consultation.

During this consultation, you will meet with one of our injection experts to learn more about the fillers we offer and how they can be used to reach your goals. We will ask about your medical history and aesthetic goals, as well as evaluate the targeted areas.

Your specialist will use this information to determine whether dermal fillers are right for you. They will recommend the best formula for your circumstances, as well as the amount of filler needed to achieve your desired results. You will also receive a set of personalized preparation instructions along with a comprehensive cost estimate for the treatment.

Recovery

You can immediately return to your normal routine after receiving the filler of your choice, as there is no downtime associated with our dermal fillers. You may, however, be asked to follow certain guidelines to ensure the best possible results.

You may experience temporary side effects near the injection sites, such as redness or swelling, but these effects typically resolve on their own quite quickly. You may be advised to refrain from strenuous activities for 24-48 hours, as well as to avoid excessive heat. You should avoid touching, massaging, or putting other pressure on the treatment area during the first 24 hours of your recovery, as well as avoid consuming alcohol.

It is also important to stay hydrated after your injections.

Results

Depending on the formula you receive, you will likely notice immediate results. You will be able to enjoy smoother skin and restored fullness, as well as a more youthful appearance. Many patients also report an improvement in their self-esteem after experiencing the results of their treatment. If you receive Radiesse, you will also see continuous enhancements to the texture, tone, and overall appearance of your skin due to the gradual production of collagen.

The results of dermal fillers can range in longevity, depending on the type of filler used and the area it was administered. Most patients will experience results that last between six and eighteen months, but maintenance treatments may be performed to preserve the renewed appearance.
